The more I practice yoga, the more intuitive the practice becomes. It feels natural for the body to crave hip-openers after backbends, compression after expansion. Yoga becomes this journey to find the balance between the opposites.

                        Are you a morning or night person? Me, night 🥲 But, I’ve been trying to be better about waking up earlier.  
Not too long ago, I used to dread mornings. I would throw on the first thing I saw in my closet, grab a cup of coffee and run out the door to work. Although it might be hard to stick to a routine, I keep telling myself to make time for time on the mat every day. Some days are better than others. 
Do not forget to take care of yourself. 🧘🏼♀️

                        Side Crow Pose 🧘🏼♀️
For this pose, I came to a toe stand position on my mat and I twisted to one side. I placed my hands flat on the mat, shoulder width apart. From here, I leaned forward and I bent my elbows to create a shelf for my body. 
Next goal is to raise my hips higher to help point my toes more.

                        I took a moment to set an intention with my yoga practice this morning. Doing so, I placed my palms at my heart chakra. Touching the outer edges of both pinky fingers and thumbs together, I invited new possibilities and love to my day. 
This heart chakra is known as, “The Padma Mudra.”

                        Here is a simple way to improve your forward folds! Grab a weight that fits into your elbow! Stand straight up. To start the motion, tuck the chin into the chest, round the shoulders and start flexing (rounding!) the spine going from upper to lower spine, rolling down each vertebra as you fold. 
Hold for 3 breaths. 
Then, reverse the motion. 
Go for 3-5 rounds. ✨

                        It’s all in the details. I find that’s true in my yoga practice but also for a lot of other things in my life too. Yes, we can always hang out and slide on with half the effort. Although, the outcome might now always be the same. When we skip over the small details of something, we might miss the actual learnings. We might miss the intention behind it. We might miss the whole design. 
I call this pose the broken rag doll. So as for details, it was smooth sailing for me until I realized just how close my nose had to be to my knee. 🫠 I did my personal best I swear.

                        Time is a tricky thing. We are built to think we have it in endless amounts. We spend a large amount of our days thinking about yesterday or assessing the future. Yet, it’s now that is actually happening. Even when we arrive in that place in the future we had thought about, it’s still now. So, be present or it’ll be gone before you know it.
