It is unseasonably warm here today so I’m going to take my very good pup out for a little hike while I can! He wasn’t even supposed to be my dog really but he was my last foster pup in the bunch and was with me for about 6 weeks over Christmas time. When I first got him home he was basically afraid of a paper bag blowing in the wind (although I’m not entirely sure of his background I think he was a stray or maybe in a hoarding situation down in St. Thomas, yes he’s an island boy!) but he was so eager to trust me and learn how to be a dog! Also he’s such a natural with kids, dogs and actually any small animals, he once alerted me to a baby squirrel that had fallen out of its nest and into our yard instead of you know making him/her a quick snack 😬. Anyways he turned out to be such a one of a kind dog that when the adoption organizer called one day saying “ Oh I think I finally found someone that wants to come see Otto”( the name he came with). I had never wanted something not to happen more in my life haha and that’s what I told her! She was like yep I thought he’d end up being a foster fail with you but if you ask me failing has never been so freaking awesome! And now I have a 90lb tank in my house that’s polite enough to ride to subway and sweet enough that he lets my 16yr old cat be in charge of their relationship without complaining! He really is the best boy and I’m always so grateful for our time together!
